For your convenience, measure from the inside of the window opening. Take the width measurement first, from side to side. Round up to nearest whole inch, then to nearest half foot increment. For example: 34" = 36", 41" =42", 58" = 60" and so forth. Next, measure the height, from top to bottom. [ see illustration ]
Typically, when homes are built, standard size windows are used. For example, a bedroom opening typically measures 72" x 36", a bathroom window measures 36" x 36" and a typical living room measures 96" x 60".
When you go to GET PRICING, the menu will show the standard size options. Click on the one that comes closest to your measurements. Please remember these measurements are for pricing calculations only.
Measure width and highest point.
Sliding glass doors come in the following standard widths: 5', 6', 8', 9', 10 ' 12' and 16'.
Standard french doors come 6' wide and can have optional side lites.
Note: in order to meet building codes, tempered glass is required and must be added when windows are within 18" from the floor, at a stairway landing, in a bathroom tub or shower, or next to doors by most Building Departments.
